CERTIFICATION
Two Agencies Earn PPMS Certification
ACA International congratulates the latest member agencies to receive
the Professional Practices Management
System (PPMS) certification designation:
• BYL Collection Services LLC, West
Chester, Pa.
• Insolvency Management Services Pty
Ltd., Hornsby, NSW, Australia
PPMS is a management system for
collection agencies based upon developing,
implementing and adhering to a set of
industry-specific professional practices and
policies. The required foundational training
session teaches participants about the 18
basic elements of a PPMS and how to
develop the following types of
documentation to support the PPMS:
• Company manuals
• Company procedures
• Work instructions
Developing and documenting a PPMS
is the core of the ACA International
Agency Certification Program. While each
agency’s PPMS will be unique, by
following the overall guidelines of the
program, the agency will demonstrate a
commitment to quality assurance and
client satisfaction that is the foundation of
the ACA agency certification designation.
The next Foundational Training on
PPMS seminars will be held on December
9-10, 2009, in Minneapolis; on March 15-
16, 2010, in conjunction with ACA’s Spring
Forum and Expo at Double Tree Paradise
Valley Resort in Scottsdale, Ariz.; and on
July 9-10, 2010, in conjunction with ACA
International’s 71st Annual Convention and
Exposition at Gaylord National on the
Potomac in Washington, D.C.

RECOGNITION
ConServe Receives Business Ethics Award
ConServe, an ACA International member in Fairport, N. Y., providing
accounts receivable management and
collection services, has been selected
as a winner of the 2009 Rochester
Business Ethics Award.
The award, presented at a business
luncheon on Sept. 22 at the Rochester
Riverside Convention Center, recognizes
ConServe as a significant leader in the
local Rochester community for its
commitment to ethical business
practices demonstrated in ConServe’s
everyday operations, management
philosophies, and responses to crises or
challenges.
The award was presented by the
Rochester Area Business Ethics
Foundation. The award is modeled on
the national American Business Ethics
Award, which was founded in 1994 by
the National Society of Financial Service
Professionals. Nominated companies are
evaluated by an independent panel of
judges composed of individuals with an
expertise in business ethics and who are
drawn from the business, academic,
public service, media and consulting
communities.
The judges evaluate the companies
on documented evidence of the integrity
of their corporate code of ethics, as well
as a clear demonstration of the
company’s commitment to ethical
business practices through management
and employee behavior. The judging
criteria are stringent, and the result is an
award that is coveted by area
businesses.
Accepting the award, Mark Davitt,
president and CEO of ConServe, said, “It
is an honor for all our team members to
be recognized with this award. Our staff
demonstrates daily their commitment to
the very high standards we place on
integrity, ethics and service. To be
publicly recognized by our community
with this award is another positive
affirmation that we are doing the right
things, at the right time, in the right
way.”
